About Tara

Women’s Hormone Health Naturopath

One of the reasons why I have spent 20 years of clinical practice passionate about helping women with their hormone health is that I have had my own experience of hormone imbalance.

My hormone health journey

I suffered with PMDD and period pain for many years. Severe mood symptoms had a massive impact on my relationships, and my excruciating period pain would leave me bedridden.

I searched for answers for a long time, finding no effective conventional treatment options. The Pill and Depo Provera significantly worsened my mood, and my pain would return as soon as I stopped them.

I finally found relief from herbal and nutritional medicine, inspiring me to study naturopathy to help others like me.

Recently, I had a resurgence of PMDD and period pain due to entering perimenopause. At first, I felt alarmed, but I knew that my hormones fluctuating in their ‘last hurrah’ was a temporary phase and that ‘this too shall pass’.

I dusted myself off and did a deep dive into further research, learning how to better treat my own symptoms and further help other perimenopausal women in the process.

HowI can help you

My hormone health journey has made me aware of the gap in health services for women’s hormone imbalance, and I feel driven to bridge it with highly effective naturopathic treatment plans that provide support, give advocacy, and spread awareness.

I will support you by:

  • providing a practical and sustainable treatment plan including dietary and lifestyle advice, as well as herbal and nutritional medicine, that is tailored to your unique health needs

  • guiding you on your health journey so you can stay motivated and on track to reach your health goals

  • equipping you with health information and resources to maintain hormone balance.

I will be your advocate in the field of conventional medicine by:

  • working collaboratively with your GP, specialist or fertility clinic

  • ordering functional pathology testing to identify a hormonal health condition such as low thyroid function or PCOS so you can receive a correct medical diagnosis from your GP

  • assisting you in communicating with healthcare providers about your health needs if you choose to combine conventional treatment with naturopathy for conditions like PMDD, adenomyosis, and endometriosis.

I will help you to understand your hormones and menstrual cycle so you can feel:

  • in sync with and comfortable in your body

  • calm and in control of your mood

  • better able to manage everyday stress

  • more energised to keep up with your busy lifestyle.
